As a reminder, the schools of the Indian River Central School District will be closed on Thursday, June 19th in observance of the Juneteenth holiday, the annual commemoration of the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States after the Civil War. We hope that you take some time on this day to celebrate and consider how we can work together to create a nation that truly stands for freedom, justice, dignity, and opportunity for all.

We will welcome our students back to school on Friday, June 20th.

The Evans Mills Public Library's Summer Reading Program: Color Our World will run from July 7-August 16, 2025! There will be programs every weekend including Therapy Dogs on July 12 and Repco's Prehistoric World Presentation on August 2. Sign up at the library today!

The Indian River Central School District Board of Education will meet on Thursday, June 12, 2025 in the Board of Education room in the Indian River Central School District Office Complex (32735B County Route 29, Philadelphia, NY 13673) beginning at 6:30PM.

Indian River Central School District Board of Education Meetings are public meetings where in-person attendance is welcome. This meeting will also be streamed live for virtual public viewing through the District’s Facebook page beginning at 6:30PM. Additionally, the meeting will be recorded and subsequently transcribed. Get ready to tee off at the annual IR Backpack Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 21st starting at 9:00AM at Willowbrook Golf Course! Join us for a day of fun and friendly competition on the greens as we raise funds for the Indian River Backpack Program.

Registration for this tournament is $60, which includes Golf, Cart, and Lunch. Additional costs include Mulligans, Skins, Snack Cart, and Raffles hosted by staff, family, and friends of IR. The format for this tournament is Captain and Crew.

Youth ages 10-15 can join us on July 28-30 from 9:00AM-3:00PM for the Summer 4-H Outdoor Education Program and participate in fun outdoor activities such as:

• NYS 4-H Shooting sports such as air rifle/archery
• Hunting and tracking
• Environmental science/stewardship 
• Plant identification/foraging
• Fishing
• ...and more!

The registration fee is $50 and includes a T-shirt and lunch. Register today--spots are limited!
